Apple has raised the maximum trade-in offers for many iPhones, iPads, Macs and Apple Watches while adding several newer Android phones to the programme. The change gives customers more ways to turn an older device into credit, but it does not create a single guaranteed payout for every model or owner.
Apple's published trade-in table was updated on August 6, 2026, according to 9to5Mac's review of the current offers. The standout gains are concentrated in computers, and the expanded non-Apple list now spans three major Android brands. Apple still calculates the final amount from the exact model, configuration and condition it receives.
Mac Trade-In Credits Lead the Increase
The Mac Studio received the largest listed increase in the updated table. For that model, the ceiling is now $1,305; the prior figure was $1,045, making the change $260. The MacBook Pro now tops out at $855, compared with $690 before, and the Mac Pro at $2,195 rather than $2,045. Those changes matter because a higher-value computer can make a noticeable difference to the cost of a replacement, even when the credit is applied only after Apple verifies the old machine.
The revision also reaches other Apple product lines. The iPhone 16 Pro Max maximum increased to $720 from $695, and the iPhone 16 Pro rose to $630 from $560. Apple Watch Series 10 moved to $165 from $150, while the iPad Pro maximum rose to $720 from $690. The MacBook Air increased to $580 from $520, and the Mac mini rose to $480 from $375. These are maximum figures for eligible devices, not promises that every unit will receive the same amount.
There is no blanket increase: the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G now has a $125 ceiling rather than $130, while the Google Pixel 8 Pro is listed at $155 instead of $165. Older Pixel offers are now capped at $90 for the 7 Pro and $60 for the 7, each down by $5. The mixed results show why customers need to check the current estimate rather than rely on an earlier quote or a general assumption that every trade-in value has increased.
New Android Entries Broaden the Upgrade Calculation
Apple has also added trade-in credit for a Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G, three Google Pixel 9 variants and both OnePlus 13 models. The maximum offers are $95, $315, $305, $210, $250 and $165 respectively. That expands the programme beyond Apple hardware and gives owners of several current Android phones a direct route to Apple credit.
Apple's official Trade In service says it accepts eligible devices from Apple and other manufacturers, including Samsung and Google. Customers can start an estimate online or take a device to an Apple Store, and an ineligible device can still be recycled at no cost. The company bases an estimate on the device's model and condition; the final credit depends on the device matching the information supplied and passing inspection.
That distinction is important for anyone comparing the new headline numbers with the cost of a replacement. Apple presents the figures as maximum estimates rather than guaranteed payouts, and not every configuration is eligible. The credit can also be applied differently depending on whether a customer pays in full or uses a monthly payment arrangement. A customer who wants a precise figure should therefore use Apple's current estimator after selecting the exact model, storage size and condition.
The timing gives the update a wider commercial context. The Verge reported that the higher offers followed Apple price increases announced earlier in 2026 and that Apple had introduced an Upgrade leasing programme the previous month. A bigger trade-in credit can soften that pressure for existing owners, but it does not erase a higher purchase price or make the upgrade economical for every device.
The practical change is straightforward: Mac owners have the clearest reason to recheck their estimates, while Android owners with the newly listed models now have an additional path into Apple's ecosystem. The lower offers for several older phones are a reminder that the table can move by model and date. Before making a purchase decision, customers should compare the live Apple estimate with the device's condition, configuration and full replacement cost.
